we're upfront about cost before work starts — and equally upfront about this: we don't offer refunds. design is time and thinking, not inventory, and time spent on your project can't be restocked. here's exactly what that means.
1. no refunds
All payments to Avval Studio are final and non-refundable. This applies to every payment in a project — the advance, milestone payments, and payments made in full.
We price projects upfront and in writing, before any work starts, exactly so there are no surprises that a refund would need to fix. If anything in a proposal is unclear, ask before paying — not after.
2. the advance
The project advance reserves your slot in our schedule and kicks off discovery. Reserving that slot means turning other work away, so the advance is non-refundable from the moment it's paid — including if you cancel before kickoff.
3. cancelling your project
Projects can stall — funding shifts, priorities change. If you cancel mid-project:
- Payments already made are not refunded, in part or in full.
- You receive all work completed and paid for up to the cancellation date, in its current state.
- Milestones not yet started won't be invoiced — cancelling stops future billing, it doesn't reverse past billing.
4. delivered work
Approval rounds exist exactly so nothing ships that you haven't signed off on — use them. Approved and delivered work is final.
If something we delivered has a genuine defect (a file error, a missing export), we fix it at no cost. That's not a refund situation, it's a finish-the-job situation.
5. the one exception — if we cancel
If we ever have to walk away from a project for reasons on our side, you pay only for completed, delivered work — and we return everything else, including the advance share for work not done. That's the only circumstance in which money moves back.
Any such payment goes back to the original payment method within 14 business days.
6. questions
Unsure where your situation lands? Ask before assuming — hi@avval.in. We'd rather have the conversation than the dispute.
