a café you measure in hours, not minutes.

about the client

Drip Happens is a café in New Cairo, built on the idea that specialty coffee and real baking belong under one roof. The founders wanted a place people come back to — precise on the brew, still warm in the room. Crafted and playful, in their words. Quality without the part where it gets snobby about it.

the challenge

New Cairo's café market is crowded, and Drip Happens came to us pulled in two directions — raw industrial on one side, soft botanical warmth on the other. Both felt right. Neither felt like one brand. They needed an identity that could sit on a concrete wall, a coffee bag, and a takeaway cup without reading like three different places.

our solution

We folded both directions into one system. A high-character serif logotype and a "DH" monogram give the brand its quiet, disciplined anchor; flowing botanical patterns soften the structure so the whole thing reads grown, not manufactured. The retail bags for the Talisman and Columbia blends carry roast data and hand-drawn leaves in equal measure — shelf-confident without shouting. Then we took it off the shelf and onto the building: exterior signage and large-scale murals that warm the concrete and wood the second you walk in.

the buzz is in the air

a café people stay in.

The brief was a café people return to, so we designed for the return. Bag, cup, menu, wall — every touchpoint runs off the same calm, earthy palette, so the place reads as one thought from the door to the takeaway. The packaging does double duty: distinctive enough that first-timers notice it, considered enough that they trust what's inside. Coffee as a ritual, not a transaction — and a room nobody rushes to leave.

the result

60-70%first-timers noticed the packaging
30–40%added a bag to their café order
2–3×longer dwell time than grab-and-go
