a specialty café that belongs to masafi.
about the client
Dry Café is a specialty café and bakery in Masafi, Ras Al Khaimah, serving specialty coffee, fresh-baked goods and homemade desserts that reimagine traditional Emirati flavours through a contemporary lens. It trades the city rush for a calm location anchored in the region's mountain landscape.
the challenge
Dry Café had to hold its own against polished specialty-café brands while staying rooted in its own place. The real task was to balance Emirati cultural cues, Masafi's mountain landscape and the warmth of nostalgic desserts into something modern, minimal and calm — not traditional, cluttered or generically 'coffee shop' — and to carry it across cups, boxes, coffee packaging, bags, labels, stickers, menus and social.
our solution
We anchored the identity in the Masafi landscape itself. Layered mountains became the core packaging language — a calm sense of place that ties the café straight to Ras Al Khaimah. The logomark folds café and cultural cues — cup, beans, leaves, waves, mountain forms — into an arch that reads both regional and modern, with a bold wordmark for presence and a serif tagline to soften it. An earth-tone palette pulled from sand, mountains, dates, coffee and smoke grounds the system, extended by ingredient icons, landscape illustration and stickers into a full café world.

a taste of serenity

where the mountains became the brand.
We began with one question — what does the café actually belong to? The answer was its place: Masafi's mountains. We built the packaging system around layered mountain geometry, folded the café's cultural and product cues into a single modern mark, and grounded the palette in the colours of the landscape itself. The result stands apart from standard coffee-shop branding, feels genuinely rooted in Ras Al Khaimah, and holds together across cups, bags, boxes, stickers and social.
