Karaoke Kubo is a private karaoke-room experience in Redlands, California, built for groups, parties, and casual hangouts across every age and comfort level. Asian-owned and woman-owned, it offers private rooms, an easy reservation flow, and a playful, personal spin on the usual karaoke bar.

the challenge

Kubo had to feel exciting before anyone stepped inside — and stand out in a nightlife category full of generic mic icons, neon clichés, and dark-bar gloom. The identity needed to read energetic, social, and instantly shareable while staying clear across signage, rooms, web, Instagram, and booking, making private karaoke feel less intimidating and more like a ready-made night out.

our solution

We built a bold, retro-pop system inspired by karaoke nights, disco light, and anime energy. The chunky, dimensional wordmark sits loud and stage-ready over a blue disco globe — the anchor for music, movement, and a room coming alive. Orbiting pink shapes, sparkles, hand-sign illustrations, and electric-blue accents extend it; a palette of bright yellow, deep blue, soft pink, black, and warm off-white keeps it nostalgic, digital, and social. The world carries from social visuals and web to business cards, stickers, and the room itself.

The identity turns a private-room service into a full night-out destination. The disco globe, the dimensional wordmark, and the retro-pop palette carry from the Instagram feed to the booking page to the door, so Kubo feels bright, easy to remember, and built for sharing long before the first song. Social-first and unmistakably its own, it's set up to pull in groups, celebrations, and spontaneous karaoke plans.
